Project Links
[Future Project 2026]
eLifeLink partners with Champions for Nepal Health based in Kathmandu, Nepal to implement project related to telemedicine and cardiovascular disease screening in remote parts of Nepal. eLifeLink’s focus will be in providing communication links between the beneficiary health post and city hospitals. It will provide a laptop or tablet to the health post to establish a audio/video link between the health assistant and doctors in a hospital in Kathmandu. The portable medical equipment The doctors and specialists in these hospitals will be working as volunteers to provide live online consultation services to the health assistants and community health workers.
eLifeLink provides a number of portable medical equipment that could be used in screening and early identification of cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases. Output from these equipment will be captured into the laptop/tablet via Bluetooth connection which will be shared in real time with doctors in Kathmandu. It will also help to setup link to data centers to verify output, such as from the Eko Duo equipment, using Artificial Intelligence (AI) services. This will be very essential for large health screening. The results will also be captured in some EMR online database system that will be piloted for this project. One such system developed by OpenMRS community is featured in the EMR System under the Resources section of the Menu. Anyone suspected with rheumatic heart disease or irregular heartbeat will be subjected to further echo testing using 12 lead ECG machine.
eLifeLink is seeking in-kind donations from pharmaceutical manufacturers and pharmacies which will also be provided to the remote health posts.
We normally follow a participatory approach while implementing and operating the projects we get involved with. This means all stakeholders in the project will have proportionate contributions to make – be it monetary or otherwise and well as accountability for the efforts they put in. The following diagram sums up the ‘Shared Responsibility Model‘ we follow for all project implementation in order to ensure sustainable operation.
The sets of responsibilities for the respective stakeholders for the pilot telemedicine project is illustrated in the diagram below. It is expected that there wold be more than one external sponsor for the project besides eLifeLink.
